Torch Flashlight Charger
If the entire world was alight there would be no need for a flame. Unfortunately for us, sometimes the world goes dark, and even more unfortunately sometimes work has to be done in the dark. A head torch is a flashlight mounted on a strap that is worn around the head or on top of a helmet. They are typically used in welding operations or in places where a flood light cannot be hung. Another use for them is on backpacking trips. The simplest version consists of a LED, light bulb, or xenon lamp bulb attached to a strap that goes around the head. More complex models are shaped to fit over a helmet and some have variable light levels for different work environments. Prices can range from $6 to $72, with the higher priced models sporting rechargeable battery packs and clips.
You can find a head torch that is right for you at several places. For the camper or hiker they can be found at an outdoor shop, while do-it-yourself construction types may want to check out their local hardware store. Before purchase, several questions should be asked of the shop where you are purchasing the item. Most notably you will want to know about battery life, length of the light beam, life of the bulb itself, and what type of batteries it takes. This should be taken into consideration when making your purchase decision. The more you want to spend for features, the more looking to the internet for better prices makes sense. But somebody with less expensive needs will find that the shipping far outweighs the benefit. While somebody who only needs to go out to walk the dog a lower priced model may do, but this type of frugalness should be something to make the experienced outdoorsman or woman "take a hike."
