Vegetable Garden - This may not be as obvious, but starting and maintaining a vegetable garden can provide much needed food during an extended period of time. Rainwater can also be a source for keeping your food supply (garden) alive and healthy during droughts.

In conclusion, being prepared for the inevitable disaster is something everyone should do today. Having the ability to respond accordingly if no electric or water is available. Preparation is key and can provide a level of comfort for you and your family.
