Product Description Not too hot, not too cold-- You need something in between. Columbia's vests deliver core body warmth when you need it and breathable mobility when you want to move. A vest is a versatile layering piece for many occassions.
Product Description Keep your upper body warm without adding bulk to your arms. Perfect for activities in the outdoors, this Columbia Sportswear Cathedral Peak Vest leaves your arms free to move. Wear this piece alone or layer it under a heavier jacket for the coldest days. Made from soft polyester fleece, this vest has a zip front and zip pockets for extra functionality. The drawcord hem helps you achieve a great fit. About Columbia Sportswear Founded in 1938, Columbia Sportswear Company has grown from a small family-owned hat distributor to one of the world's largest outerwear brands and the leading seller of ski-wear in the United States. Columbia's extensive product line includes a wide variety of outerwear, sportswear, rugged footwear and accessories. Columbia specializes in developing innovative products that are functional yet stylish and offer great value. Eighty-year-old matriarch Gert Boyle, Chairman of the Board, and her son, Tim Boyle, President and CEO, lead the company. Columbia's history starts with Gert's parents, Paul and Marie Lamfrom, when they fled Germany in 1937. They bought a small hat distributorship in Portland, Oregon, and named it Columbia Hat Company, after the river bordering the city. Soon frustrated by poor deliveries from suppliers, the Lamfroms decided to start manufacturing products themselves. In 1948, Gert married college sweetheart Neal Boyle, who joined the family business and later took the helm of the growing company. When Neal suddenly died of a heart attack in 1970, Gert enlisted help from Tim, then a college senior. After that, it wasn't long before business really started to take off. Columbia was one of the first companies to make jackets from waterproof/breathable fabric. They introduced the breakthrough technology called the Columbia Interchange System, in which a shell and liner combine for multiple wearing options. In the early 1980s, then 60-year-old Gert began her role as "Mother Boyle" in Columbia's successful and popular advertising campaign. The company went public in 1998 and moved into a new era as a world leader in the active outdoor apparel industry. Today, Columbia Sportswear employs more than 1,800 people around the world and distributes and sells products in more than 50 countries and to more than 12,000 retailers internationally.

I wish it a little bit warmer December 28, 2008 It's hard for me to find some shirt with right size sleeve and collar. But that would be a problem for a vest, :).
I don't like the zippers on the pockets, i never put any stuff in the pockets. Overall, this is a good vest for me, I wish it a little bit warmer.
A disappointment... November 29, 2008 I've worn Columbia fleece for years, and their vests are a particular favorite because they are so versatile. I've loved the quality and the details in the design. However, this Cathedral vest falls woefully short in both those categories. First of all, there is NO DRAWSTRING at the bottom, and that is an essential for the fit and warmth of a vest...the bottom just hangs open and the drape of the garment just doesn't work without that simple elastic drawstring. Further, the workmanship isn't any better than the no-name brands available for half the price, and the material is thin and insufficient. Not up to Columbia's very high (and usual) standard. Wish I could get my money back. Try again, Amazon.
Good vest August 23, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this for my husband last year, for Christmas. At this point in time, no complaints at all from him. Washes well and wears well, and its light color doesn't show white dog hair, which was a must for a new vest!
Good but not great August 4, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
